Golf gifts for women

Most 'golf gifts for women' lists are the men's list in pink. These are picked on what the product does, not what color it comes in.

How we pick

The short answer

The short answer

The best golf gifts for women are the same categories that work for any golfer — balls, gloves, rangefinders, accessories — chosen on function rather than color. The one genuine difference worth knowing is glove sizing, which runs smaller and is the most common mistake. When in doubt, buy something size-free.

The picks

Every pick, and who it's wrong for

Callaway Callaway Supersoft

01Almost any golfer

Callaway Supersoft

The safest dozen you can hand a golfer you don't know much about.

What it is
A box of twelve golf balls. Callaway publishes this one as a low-compression ball, which is the industry's way of saying it is built to squash more easily when it is hit.
Why a golfer wants it
Golfers lose balls constantly — water, trees, tall grass — so a fresh dozen is a genuinely consumable gift that gets used. This particular model is the one that suits the widest range of swing speeds, which matters when you don't know how hard the recipient hits it.
  • Callaway publishes: 2-piece
  • Low compression
  • 12-ball box

Skip this if

They play seriously and already have a ball they are loyal to. Committed golfers get weirdly attached to one model, and switching is a real decision for them, not a free upgrade.

Blue Tees Blue Tees Series 3 Max+

02Best value rangefinder

Blue Tees Series 3 Max+

Two thirds off the famous one, for the feature a golfer actually uses.

What it is
A laser rangefinder with a slope switch — a toggle that turns the uphill/downhill adjustment on and off. Blue Tees publishes a 1000-yard range.
Why a golfer wants it
The physical slope switch matters: slope-adjusted distances are not allowed in competition, so being able to visibly turn it off is what makes a rangefinder tournament-legal. Getting that at this price is the whole argument for this pick.
  • Blue Tees publishes: 1000yd range
  • Slope switch
  • Magnetic mount

Skip this if

The recipient is a brand person, or plays with people who are. Golf is unusually status-conscious about visible equipment, and a Bushnell in the bag reads differently to some golfers than a Blue Tees does. That's not a knock on the product.

Tifosi Tifosi Rivet Golf Sunglasses

03Best value sunglasses

Tifosi Rivet Golf Sunglasses

Golf-specific lenses at a quarter of the famous brand's price.

What it is
Sunglasses with a lens tint Tifosi publishes as tuned for golf — the idea is to raise the contrast between the ball, the grass and the sky.
Why a golfer wants it
Four hours squinting is genuinely tiring, and golf-tuned lenses help pick a white ball out against a bright sky. Losing a pair on a course is also common, which makes the price a feature.
  • Tifosi publishes: golf-tuned lens
  • Lightweight frame
  • Shatterproof

They wear prescription glasses. Non-prescription sunglasses are useless to them, and this is an easy thing to forget when buying.

Handy Picks Leather Golf Scorecard Holder

04A more thoughtful small gift

Leather Golf Scorecard Holder

The closest thing to a personal gift in golf without needing a size.

What it is
A leather folder that holds the paper scorecard and a pencil, keeping it dry and flat through a round.
Why a golfer wants it
Scorecards get rained on and folded into pockets. A leather holder is the sort of small upgrade that reads as considered rather than functional, and it ages well.
  • Leather
  • Pencil loop
  • Standard scorecard fit

Skip this if

The recipient uses an app to keep score. A growing number of golfers do, and for them the paper card is already gone.

Generic Magnetic Golf Towel

05Best under $10

Magnetic Golf Towel

The cheapest thing on this site that a golfer will use every single round.

What it is
A microfiber towel with a magnet sewn into it, so it sticks to the metal frame of a golf cart instead of falling in the mud.
Why a golfer wants it
Golfers wipe club faces constantly — a dirty groove genuinely changes how the ball comes off. Almost every golfer has a towel; almost none have one that stays where they put it.
  • Waffle microfiber
  • Magnetic mount
  • Clip included

Skip this if

You're giving it on its own as the main present. It's a great addition to a bigger gift and a thin one by itself.

Garmin Garmin Approach S44

06Wearing off the course too

Garmin Approach S44

A golf GPS that also passes as an everyday watch. That's the whole point.

What it is
A golf GPS smartwatch with a color AMOLED screen, full course maps and the usual smartwatch functions.
Why a golfer wants it
The problem with dedicated golf watches is they look like golf watches. This one doesn't, so it gets worn daily rather than dug out on Saturdays.
  • Garmin publishes: AMOLED display
  • Full course maps
  • Smartwatch functions

Skip this if

They already wear a smartwatch they like. Nobody wears two, and this competes directly with an Apple Watch rather than complementing it.

Tin Cup Tin Cup Golf Ball Marker Stencil

07Pairing with a box of balls

Tin Cup Golf Ball Marker Stencil

Turns any dozen balls into personalized ones, and it doesn't run out.

What it is
A metal stencil that clips over a golf ball so a design can be drawn on the same way every time.
Why a golfer wants it
Golfers mark their balls to identify them. A stencil makes that mark consistent and deliberate rather than a biro scribble, and unlike custom-printed balls it works on every dozen they ever buy.
  • Machined metal
  • Works on any ball
  • Marker not always included

Skip this if

You already bought custom-printed balls. The two solve the same problem, and buying both is buying the same gift twice.

Callaway Callaway Magnetic Hat Clip Markers (2-pack)

08Stocking fillers

Callaway Magnetic Hat Clip Markers (2-pack)

Tiny, cheap, always lost, always replaced. A safe stocking filler.

What it is
A clip that attaches to a cap brim and holds a magnetic disc used to mark where a ball sits on the green.
Why a golfer wants it
Ball markers vanish. Having a spare pair clipped to a hat means never using a coin from a pocket again.
  • 2-pack
  • Magnetic
  • Callaway branded

You need the gift to feel substantial on its own. This is a filler, and it should sit alongside something else.

PuttOut PuttOut Pressure Putt Trainer

09Practicing indoors

PuttOut Pressure Putt Trainer

A practice tool small enough to live in a living room, which is why it gets used.

What it is
A curved plastic ramp that returns a well-struck putt back to you and rejects a bad one, so it gives feedback without needing a hole.
Why a golfer wants it
Putting is roughly 40% of the shots in a round and the easiest thing to practice at home. Most training aids are too big to leave out; this one isn't, and that's the difference between used and unused.
  • Returns made putts
  • Portable
  • No hole required

Skip this if

They have no carpet or hard floor with a straight run. It needs a couple of meters of flat surface, which not every home has.

What to know

Before you buy

The color thing

It is worth saying plainly: a large share of "golf gifts for women" content is the men's list with pink products substituted in. Golf equipment is not gendered in any meaningful way. A rangefinder measures distance identically regardless of who holds it, and a golf ball does not know who hit it.

There are two genuine exceptions, and they are both about fit rather than preference: gloves and shoes are made on different lasts and in different size ranges. Everything else on this page is chosen on what it does.

Where the real differences are

Gloves.Women's golf gloves run smaller and are cut differently, and the hand is the same rule as for anyone: a right-handed golfer wears it on the lefthand. If you don't know her size, this is a gift to skip — a badly-fitting glove is worse than no glove. Our glove sizing guide covers how to work it out if you can get a look at one she already owns.

Ball choice.Ball manufacturers publish compression figures, and a lower compression ball suits a slower swing speed. That correlates loosely with gender on average, but it correlates far more strongly with how hard a specific person swings — so the honest advice is the same one we'd give for anyone: if she's newer to golf or doesn't swing hard, a softer ball is the safer pick. Compression explained, without the jargon.

The gifts that land regardless

Accessories are where this gets easy. A leather scorecard holder, a magnetic towel, a set of hat-clip ball markers and a ball stencil are all genuinely useful, all size-free, and none of them requires you to know anything about her game.

At the top of the budget, a rangefinder or a GPS watch is the same excellent gift it is for anyone. The Garmin watch in particular gets picked here because it passes as an everyday watch, which means it gets worn rather than dug out on Saturdays.

If she's new to golf

Beginners lose a lot of balls and worry about holding people up. The most useful things you can buy in that situation are cheap and unglamorous: a soft, forgiving ball, a decent glove, and something for practicing at home where nobody is watching. Our gifts for beginner golfers page goes into that properly.

FAQ

Questions people actually ask

Are women's golf balls actually different?

Mostly they are standard balls marketed differently, though many genuinely are lower compression — which suits a slower swing speed regardless of who is swinging. What compression means.

What size golf glove does a woman need?

Women's gloves run in their own size range and are cut differently. Unless you can check one she already owns, buy something else — a badly-fitting glove bunches and slips, which is worse than none.

What's a good golf gift for a woman who has everything?

Look outside equipment: a ball stencil, a leather scorecard holder, a home putting mat. More in gifts for golfers who have everything.

Is golf apparel a safe gift?

It is the least safe category we cover. Apparel needs a size, fits differently between brands, and gets worn in front of people — taste matters as much as fit. Everything on this page is deliberately size-free.
